Sarajevo International Airport a general sponsor of the International Business Forum 2014

The International Business Forum 2014, organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, in cooperation with the British Council, started today in the Congress centre Terme Ilidža.
The Forum was oficially open by the Sarajevo Cantonal Minister of economy Emir Hrenovica who explained that the aim of 2-day-long Forum is a presentation of Sarajevo Canton's economy as a potential investment destination.
Attendees were also addressed by Valentin Inzko, High Commissioner to BiH who emphasized that the Forum is held in rather dramatic period.
„BiH needs any kind of aid in form of investments and creation of job opportunities. Natural resources in BiH are great but human resources are even bigger and worth exploiting. People from BiH living abroad are very successful and I cannot see any reason why they could not be equally successful in their country“, added Inzko.
Deputy Chief of EU Delegation to BiH Renzo Daviddi also addressed the Forum participants and wished them a successful work.
In her address to the participants Larisa Halilović, Director of British Council in BiH, said that many persons were interested in a relation between British Council and investments.
„If you do not invest in education, you may be sure you will suffer loss. More than 110 countries have the same problem like BiH, and that is how to meet demands of the market and manpower, and the British Council tries to reconcile both sectors' needs“, added Halilović.

The FBiH Prime Minister, Mr. Nermin Nikšić, sent the Forum a Letter of support in which he welcomed organization of such an important conference in Sarajevo.
At the end of the opening ceremony Minister Hrenovica presented with a commendation to the general sponsor of the project, i.e. Sarajevo International Airport's general manager, Mr. Ivan Veličan.
Letters of thanks were also presented to the British Council, Prevent BH, Ilijaš Municipality, while the scroll of honor was given to Mr. Fahrudin Solak, acting director of the Federal Administration of Civil Defence, for an exceptional contribution in rescue of people and material assets during the floods that affected BiH in May 2014.
During the Forum local and foreign experts will discuss today's business challenges, economic development, export to the European market, priority of adopting European standards. EU funds, etc. The second day a round-table conference will be organized to talk about implementation of European and international standards in education in order to get better access to labour and education market of Europe and the world. The Forum gathers most eminent business and financial experts from BiH and foreign countries, as well as representatives of foreign and domestic companies from various lines of business.
